Commissioners discuss condition of building
MOUNT VERNON -- On Monday, the Knox County Board of Commissioners met with Emily Marth, risk management and human resources, and Mount Vernon Assistant Fire Chief Chris Menapace to discuss the condition of the building located at 110 E. High St.

Fredericktown closer to building community center
FREDERICKTOWN -- A busy meeting for the Fredericktown Village Council on Monday night brought the village a few steps closer to a plan to build a community center at the old Dana property on South Main Street.

Lawsuit filed against school, teacher
MOUNT VERNON -- A lawsuit was filed Friday in the southern district court on behalf of a student at the Mount Vernon Middle School. The federal suit alleges civil rights violations by the Mount Vernon City School District Board of Education, superintendent Stephen Short, middle school principal William White and science teacher John Freshwater.
