Hazmat trailer, truck to be sold - VIDEO
MOUNT VERNON -- After years of controversy and debate between officials across the county, the Knox County hazmat trailer, and the truck purchased to tow it, could soon be sold.

Firefighters trained to deal with hazmat situations
MOUNT VERNON -- Although Knox County has not experienced a major hazmat situation in approximately 10 years, fire officials across the county said they do have the training and equipment within their departments to deal with the smaller hazmat incidents they regularly face.

Group continuing efforts to replace school board
MOUNT VERNON -- Undaunted by discovering that Ohio has no recall ballot process for elected school board members, the Knox County Chapter of Minutemen United, according to members Max Erwin Sr. and Jeff Cline, is continuing its efforts to replace the Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Steve Short.

Commissioners hear reports
MOUNT VERNON -- The Knox County Board of Commissioners met with employees of the Department of Jobs and Family Services on Monday to open bids, and also with Roger Shooter, director of the department, to hear reports from his office.
