MOUNT VERNON — Holly Quaine, the president of the local chamber of commerce, said her recent decision to move on was a difficult one.

After July 30, she will be the new president of the Delaware Ohio Area Chamber of Commerce. Quaine became president of the Mount Vernon-Knox County Chamber of Commerce in April 2006.

“It’s a great opportunity both personally and professionally,” Quaine said. “Delaware County is the fastest growing county in the state. Its potential for growth in the community will be a real challenge.”

She said her tenure as president of the Mount Vernon-Knox County Chamber of Commerce has been a wonderful experience.

“I’ve met some of the best people I know (here) or will ever know,” Quaine said.

She said it was an honor to be able to work with so many businesses, big and small, in Knox County.

“I want to thank the business community for its support,” she said.
