EK board gets guided tour of new middle school

Wednesday’s meeting of the East Knox Board of Education was short and sweet, according to Treasurer Jessica Busenburg. The highlight of the meeting was actually after the meeting when Superintendent John Marschhausen gave the board a guided tour of the new middle school.

Book deals with issue of bullying

Even though school is out for the summer, children and teens may still encounter bullies — at the swimming pool, at summer camp or on the community playground. A new book can provide parents with a starting point to talk with their children about bullying and how to deal with it.

County prepares for incident

Knox County is well prepared to respond should a large-scale public health incident strike the county. These comments come from officials from the Ohio Department of Health, who took part in the Knox County Health Department’s pandemic functional exercise on Thursday.

Old steam engine makes its way to Bellville area

An old railroad steam engine went through Mount Vernon on Tuesday afternoon. But it wasn’t on the Ohio Central Railroad tracks. It was a trailer headed for the business complex at I-71 and Ohio 97 northwest of Bellville. It looks like a derelict, really in bad shape.
