A-B is not a family owned company. It is publicly traded. The shareholders who will get a 35% something bonus on their holdings probably have a different opinion than is being expressed here. Our businesses are being picked off by foreign concerns due to the weak dollar. Did that come from the tax and spend Democrats or from the borrow and spend Republicans? Anyway the Chinese win because they will do it cheaper and that makes the $100 million a year CEO look like the genius of the balance sheet. Big government doesnít scare me as much as big business. July 17, 2008, 3:27 pm Time to put Americans first.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=pMBhsNd98lM July 17, 2008, 3:11 pm To everybody who says they'll drink a good American beer--Coors--instead, just remember: Coors was recently bought by SAB Miller. What's SAB Miller? That's the company that was formed when Miller Brewing was taken over by ... SOUTH AFRICAN BREWERIES. Wanna drink American? Buy a good craft or regional brew, like Great Lakes or Columbus Brewing Company. The majors' products are all pee-water, anyway. July 17, 2008, 12:51 pm Can't leave well enough only these days. This is suppose to be the good old USA. July 17, 2008, 11:04 am To Sandy, The democraps are the ones who made NAFTA so you can thank them for sending our jobs away. But if you want to vote for a terrorist for Pres. Than you go right ahead But I think you'll find it doesn't matter who you put in the white house gas is not going down. And the country will still be in debt.Even Though the democraps are giving 48 billion to Africa and other foreign places for HIV/AIDS. Don't you think that money would be better spent here. July 17, 2008, 8:26 am To bad you Damocraps don't have spall checker on yer cumputerz. July 17, 2008, 5:46 am You will probably just get drunk and go pee in the public pool. (Just like we pee in the beer) Wink Wink :) July 17, 2008, 5:29 am Another one bite the dust July 16, 2008, 11:06 pm JUST BECAUSE A MONKEY CAN CLIMB A POLE, DONT MEAN HE'S GONNA GET FREE CABLE! THATS ALL I CAN SAY!! July 16, 2008, 7:59 pm To JLB, you need to thank the Republicans for shipping our jobs and businesses to foreign countries, for the high gas prices and for running the good USA into bankruptcy. The shrub (the bush)thinks he's a dictator, he does not care about WE THE PEOPLE.. and good riddens to him in January 2009, the USA is better off without that shrub. July 16, 2008, 4:44 pm Maybe the foreign company will buy the hazmat trailer too. July 16, 2008, 3:34 pm All I got to say is you can thank the democraps for NAFTA and all our jobs and bussinesses going to foriegn places.... July 16, 2008, 2:51 pm All there doing is selling off the United States piece by piece. July 16, 2008, 2:40 pm well sure the beer keep us drunk so they can take it all!duh July 16, 2008, 2:22 pm Cindy McCain will make millions from this. Google it for yourself. July 16, 2008, 1:56 pm BIG deal!!!!! July 16, 2008, 1:41 pm "Thank bush for the ecomomy and the way it's going business moving to mexico" Thank NAFTA for selling out American jobs and the Congress & the Fed for selling out the American dollar. Ron Paul was right. July 16, 2008, 1:32 pm just goes to show you that even Beer can sell out.... Time to switch to Samuel Adams..... No more supporting Budweiser..... July 16, 2008, 12:57 pm I think it is great thing! Foreign company make the better car so foreign company should be able to make better beer. I sure people still find way to get drunk from non American beer. July 16, 2008, 12:11 pm last great American product , sold out July 16, 2008, 11:57 am Another case of the selling of America.I agree with Liama--Let's all switch to Coors--Budweiser be damned. July 16, 2008, 11:25 am DRINK LOCAL DRINK CRAFT BEER STOP CORPORATE GREED July 16, 2008, 10:38 am Let's all switch to a great American beer - Coors!!! July 16, 2008, 8:51 am It's just a very sad story and proof positive that everything is for sale at the right price. American breweries at one time were the pinnacle of beer excellence through-out the world. I guess they don't have the clout they used to any longer. While an American icon will still be in America, it certainly will not be the same. I'm sure if Augustus Busch were alive today, he would roll over in his grave. The only hope that I have is that this deal will clear the way for the rise of some other great future American icon that the nation has not been introduced to yet. Perhaps some independent American brewery that has yet to make it into the national lime-light yet? Time will tell. July 16, 2008, 7:23 am Thank bush for the ecomomy and the way it's going business moving to mexico and other countries for cheap labor. We need to keep all of our business for the american people for jobs and to support there families. The foreign people own to much of our business. July 15, 2008, 11:10 pm America is dieing slowly. What's sad is we're all letting it happen. What else will move overseas. White house, Big corperate billionairs. May as well, there wont be anything left in america. July 15, 2008, 9:38 pm Thatz how we roll! Skeezer! July 15, 2008, 7:38 pm We need to keep our businesses and land in Americans hands, not foreigners!--I agree w/Leigh!! This is out of control. July 15, 2008, 6:55 pm This is just a consequence of increased globalization and the weak dollar. America still equates to quality in the eyes of the rest of the world. Foreign investors are recognizing good values when they see them. We need to accept that a global economy will increasingly mean foreigners buying up our land and companies, just like we have been doing elsewhere for quite some time. July 15, 2008, 3:18 pm I think it is sad that a another family owned business is being sold outsiders. We need to keep our businesses and land in Americans hands, not foreigners! Pretty soon we won't own anything! July 15, 2008, 2:02 pm As our nation continues to swirl down the toilet thanks to decades of Republican rule, our industrial sector continues to die and our landmarks continue to be purchased by other nations. Face it, folks--the United States is in its twilight. We had a good run, but we're out of money. Nations in Europe, Asia, and even Africa are buying everything and leaving us with very little. Greatest nation on Earth? HA! July 15, 2008, 1:19 pm |
When the company becomes non-profitable the foreign
investors will want to sell for much less than they
purchased. That's when an American interest can buy back
the company and Americans can start consuming their products
again. Send a message to the foreign investors that we
won't put up with it.
