BLADENSBURG — A driving miscue by a Gambier man resulted in injuries and an off-road excursion by a truck and trailer loaded with an excavator. Timothy Ware, 42, suffered fractures of both legs when his pickup hit the truck, then rolled on its top. Ware was taken to Knox Community Hospital by the Bladensburg squad and then flown to Grant Medical Center by MedFlight helicopter. He is listed in stable condition.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Sycamore Road, a mile west of U.S. 62, at 5:15 p.m. Ware was westbound when his pickup went left of center, hitting just behind the left front wheel of a truck driven by David Lehman, 48, Jeromesville. The truck, with the left front wheel damaged and towing a trailer loaded with the excavator, veered off the left side of the road and slammed across a ditch into a soybean field.

The trailer and excavator partially rolled over on the roadway. The road was closed and it took four hours to move the equipment. Trooper Todd Carpenter has charged Ware with driving left of center.
