September 15, 2008

MOUNT VERNON — According to Knox County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency Director Marie Blubaugh, a comfort center is open in Fredericktown for use by residents during the storm cleanup and power outage.

“We should have the shelter up and running by about 10:30 a.m.,” Fredericktown Fire Chief Scott Mast said this morning. “This is a joint effort between the Red Cross, the Fredericktown Fire Department and Fredericktown EMS.”

Food and cots will available for people needing a place to go while the electricity is out.
