Generator fire scorches home

John Daniels said he heard the generator stop running, and went outside to check it at his home near Daniels’ Corner, northwest of Amity. He found flames shooting up from the truck in which the generator was placed, scorching the side of his house above the garage.

Local man dies in construction accident

A construction worker with FM Earth, a subcontracting company with Corna Kokosing Construction Co., was killed Tuesday morning at the Rolls-Royce facility, said Gary Hyman, director of communication with Rolls-Royce Energy Business. The construction worker was cutting a section of concrete pipe when he was struck by the saw he was operating, Hyman said.
