Local board of elections is busy, but ready
To say the Knox County Board of Elections has been busy is an understatement. More than a quarter of the county’s registered voters have already cast their ballot for the 2008 presidential election.

East High a favorite of trick-or-treaters
On Friday, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., High Street was swamped with cars and youngsters. Not because of a parade or school, but for Halloween. The street was a hot spot for trick-or-treaters as costumes of superheros, movie characters and gruesome creatures cluttered the walkways. Many of the homes were decorated, and residents sat out on their front porches to hand out candy.

2 sentenced for felonies
On Friday, Judge Otho Eyster in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas sentenced two men for a felony crime and a violation of community control supervision, according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.
