MOUNT VERNON — On Friday, Judge Otho Eyster in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas sentenced two men for a felony crime and a violation of community control supervision, according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.
Sex offender registration records maintained by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office show that Stanley Snow, 25, Orrville, failed to register his address as required by law when he moved to Knox County last January. Thatcher said Snow, who was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Cuyahoga County in 2005, was convicted Friday of failure to register and failure to provide change of address. Snow was sentenced to a three-year prison term. Detective Roger Brown, KCSO, investigated the case.
On Nov. 9, 2007, Shawn A. Caudill, 29, Mount Vernon, was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault for attempting to cause physical harm to his 68-year-old grandmother and her 50-year-old brother. Caudill received a 17-month suspended prison sentence, and was ordered to serve a three-year term of community control supervision.
Friday, Caudill admitted that he changed his residence without notifying his supervising officer when he moved to Florida last April. Eyster imposed the 17-month prison sentence for Caudill’s violation of the terms of his community control supervision. Patrolman Scott McKnight, Mount Vernon Police Department, investigated the original case.
