UNOFFICIAL RESULTS All election results are to be validated by the Knox County Board of Elections
MOUNT VERNON — Three fire and EMS levies on Tuesday’s ballot passed, pleasing the staff of those departments.
The Fredericktown Community Fire District’s 1-mill renewal levy passed, 76 percent to 24 percent. The levy will be used to pay for the purchase and maintenance of fire apparatus, fire training and education, and personnel.
Fredericktown Fire Chief Scott Mast said he and his firefighers appreciate the continued support of the community.
“We are grateful for the confidence that the community has in our department,” he said. “We will continue to strive to increase our training and education of both our firefighters and the community to enable us to continue to provide service and protection.”
The Fredericktown Community Joint Emergency Ambulance District 0.6-mill renewal levy also passed with 77 percent of voters saying yes to the levy.
“I would like to thank everybody for their continued support of the Fredericktown Community Joint Emergency Ambulance District,” said EMS Chief Rick Lanuzza. “The money will be used for general operating expenses which include equipment and personnel. We look forward to continuing to provide care to the community in their time of need.”
The Central Ohio Joint Fire District’s 5.5-mill replacement levy passed with 2,099 votes for the levy and 1,323 against (69 percent and 31 percent, respectively).
“We really thank everybody for their conitinued support of the fire department,” said COJFD Chief Joe Porter.
