Five sentenced by Eyster

On Friday, Judge Otho Eyster in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas sentenced four men and one woman for various felony crimes and violations of community control supervision, according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.

Open enrollment a choice for area students

Open enrollment is one school choice option available to parents of school-aged children. Open enrollment means a pupil of one school district may attend school in another district, provided the proper application is made and accepted by the school districts involved.

Good weather allows progress on projects

The city is in the process of working on various projects before the winter weather takes hold. Mayor Richard Mavis said the wonderful weather the past couple of weeks has allowed for various street projects, a demolition and a playground park improvement to take place.
