COLUMBUS — The death of Jason Blubaugh in Columbus Nov. 22 is not being treated as a homicide at this point, according to Detective Jim McKosky of the Columbus Homicide Squad.
“It was a DOA,” McKosky said. “We believe it is drug related, but that determination will have to wait on the toxicology report. That usually takes about four weeks. At this point we are not treating it as a homicide.”
McKosky added that Bluebaugh was found wrapped in a blanket; there were no signs of violence.
Blubaugh had been identified as an informant in a number of drug prosecutions for the Mount Vernon Police Department. Court records identify Blubaugh, 36, as the sole eyewitness in at least 14 different local criminal prosecutions for drug trafficking.
