Burgess commended for heroic actions

Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Burgess said he doesn’t remember thinking about jumping from his cruiser when he saw Joanne Lemay running toward her burning house on Coshocton Avenue the morning of Nov. 21.

9 sentenced by Eyster

According to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher, on Monday, Judge Otho Eyster, in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas, sentenced Joaquin Segarra, 40, Lorain, to 15 months in prison for complicity to commit improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Company cited in death of construction worker

In September, a fatal accident killed Roger A. Ferenbaugh, a construction worker with Facemyer’s Backhoe and Dozer Services, at the Rolls-Royce facility. Facemyer’s, which does business as FM Earth, is a subcontractor working with Corna Kokosing Construction Co. The accident has been under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
