The Mount Vernon Fire Department responded to a house fire Thursday morning around 11:15. The home is owned by George Ellis, who was not at home at the time of the fire.
Mutual aid was provided by College Township Fire Department and Fredericktown Community Fire District.
The official cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
