MOUNT GILEAD — The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 16-year-old Gregory Scott Schilling Jr. Schilling took off from 5249 Road 191, northeast of Marengo in Morrow County, at around 1 a.m. Monday and has not been seen since. Schilling was wearing only checkered pajama pants, no shoes, no socks and no shirt. Schilling is described as being 5 feet, 9 inches, 140 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday, Morrow County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 5249 Road 191, Marengo, regarding a complaint of a dispute there. While en route to the residence, deputies were notified that Gregory Schilling was at the residence and that there was a warrant for his arrest. As the deputies were approaching the residence, Schilling saw them and ran out the back door. Deputies searched for Schilling but were unable to locate him.
Deputies left the residence but stayed in the area, hoping Schilling would return. After Schilling did not return to the residence, deputies again searched the area, still not locating him. Sheriff’s office personnel again searched the area after daylight with the assistance of the Marengo Fire Department, Morrow County EMS personnel and Morrow County EMA. A helicopter from the Columbus Police Department was also used.
As a result of this search it was discovered that someone had entered the residence at 5201 Road 191, just to the west of the residence where Schilling was last seen. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside the residence but a green 1992 Chevy van was missing from the residence. It is now believed that Schilling broke into the residence, found the keys to the van and stole it. The license number on the van is EAS5797.
