The year-end holidays should be a time of joy. But for one woman on Lower Fredericktown-Amity Road, the Saturday after Christmas became a day of grief when two of her three dogs were shot to death. A third dog, a puppy, is still missing.

Dye remains in critical condition

Alma Dye, 74, Danville, is listed in critical condition today in Grant Medical Center. She was injured Sunday night in a one-car crash that claimed the life of her husband, Harold Dye, 78.

Appeals Court upholds decisions in MWCD assessment cases

Judges of the 5th District Court of Appeals have agreed with the decisions of a lower court that permit assessments of property owners by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District to fund a plan of maintenance and rehabilitation in the system of reservoirs and dams in the Muskingum River Watershed.
