A Mount Vernon woman is a U.S. Marine Corps helicopter pilot, has had one tour of duty in Iraq from September 2007 through March 2008, and is expecting orders for another tour out of the country this spring.

According to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher, on Friday in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas, Judge Otho Eyster sentenced two men for felony crimes and sentenced one woman to prison after revoking her community control supervision.
Letters explaining residents’ choices about the gas aggregate program in the city will be sent out next week, said Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Mavis.
