Council approves pay increase

City Council voted 4 to 3 to approve a 3 percent increase for City Council president, City Council members and the city treasurer. The raise will take effect in 2010.

City looks at increasing wastewater rates

In order to pay for improvements to the sanitary sewer system, City Council is looking to raise wastewater rates in each of the next three years. Rates would be raised 12 percent in 2009, and 11 percent in 2010 and 2011.
