Juveniles break into water park

April 17, 2009

MOUNT VERNON — Two Mount Vernon High School female juveniles allegedly trespassed at the Hiawatha Water Park sometime during the high school’s spring break. The incident was investigated by the Mount Vernon Police Department.

“I did an investigation on the incident,” said MVPD Detective Craig Feeney. “There were two girls who trespassed. They are juveniles and the case is now sitting before the juvenile court at this point, waiting for determination of charges.”

Feeney said there was no forced entry and no damage was done to the facility. The two girls reportedly took pictures of each other inside the park and posted them to My Space, which is how a parent found out about the incident.

Geoff Oliver of the City Parks Department was also notified of the incident.
