Police pursuit ends in city

MOUNT VERNON — A police pursuit involving the Ohio State Highway Patrol that began in Franklin County last night ended in Mount Vernon.

The pursuit made its way into Knox County and Mount Vernon, where Mount Vernon Police Department personnel joined the chase.

Sgt. Perkins of the MVPD saw the vehicle enter Mount Vernon city limits from Harcourt Road. He lost sight of it, but then relocated the vehicle near the dike on Arch Avenue on the west side of town. The vehicle was abandoned.

The suspect and two minors were finally located at the rear of 405 Ridgewood Ave. The suspect was taken into custody and the minors were released to the custody of the OSHP.
