MOUNT VERNON — Three cars were involved in a crash Saturday at 1:31 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 62 and Ohio 229. Five people were taken by the Danville and College Township squads to Knox Community Hospital for treatment.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Christopher Kitchen, 20, Kenton, was westbound on Ohio 229 and pulled onto U.S. 62, into the path of a southbound car driven by Yvonne Gray, 47, Howard.
The Kitchen car was knocked sideways, hitting a car driven by Daniel Statford, 16, Howard, which was stopped eastbound at the intersection. Two passengers in the Gray car, Pamela Estpanza, 46, and Arturo Estpanza, 66, along with the three drivers, were all transported. Kitchen was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
