  • May 18, 2009

MOUNT VERNON — Four men and one juvenile were arrested early Sunday morning during a residential burglary.

According to Sheriff David Barber, deputies responded to a call of a burglary in progress at 15321 Cline Road, Danville, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Sunday. Upon arriving at the residence, deputies Mike Rutherford, Ryan Burgess and David Devolld located and took into custody four adult males and one male juvenile. The deputies recovered firearms and cash reportedly taken from the residence.

Barber said the 17-year-old juvenile from Newark was placed in juvenile detention while the four adults are being held in the Knox County Jail. Being held on charges of burglary are 24-year-old Christopher Moran of Howard, 23-year-old James Hiles Jr. of Roseville, 23-year-old Jason Bice of Nashport and 19-year-old Nick Dennis of Crooksville.

Detective sergeants Roger Brown and Gary Rohler, and Detective David Light also responded to the scene. The continuing investigation is being handled by the Detective Division. Additional charges are expected to be filed when the case is turned over to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.

Barber said the five suspects being located and quickly apprehended was the result of the outstanding work of deputies Burgess, Devolld and Rutherford.
