  • Boil advisory set in city

MOUNT VERNON — Weather permitting, the Mount Vernon Water Department will be working on a main water line today. The water supply will be shut down thus creating a boil advisory when the water supply is restored. As a precautionary measure, all residents in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for a minim of two minutes to ensure safe consumption.

Door hangers will not be placed n the affected area which includes:

  • McKenzie Street from Lamartine Street to Ann Street.

  • Gay Street from Lamartine Street to Warden Street.

  • Curtis Street from McKenzie Street to Wooster Road.

  • Elizabeth Street from McKenzie Street to Wooster Road.

  • Ann Street from McKenzie Street to Wooster Road.

  • Wooster Road from Main Street to Taylor Road.

  • McGibney Road from Wooster Road to High Meadow including El Nido and Stutz Avenue.

  • Any questions may be directed to the Mount Vernon Water Department at 393-9504 during the regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
