MOUNT VERNON — On June 1, a Mansfield man was charged with over 13 criminal charges that stem from a series of car break-ins in the east side of Mount Vernon during the month of March.

Brandon Molloy, 23, was already in the Knox County Jail on felony charges of breaking and entering, receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence.

Detective David McElroy from the Mount Vernon Police Department led the investigation. During the investigation, Molloy admitted to McElroy that he was responsible for several other crimes in the Mount Vernon area, including thefts from vehicles and other criminal damaging crimes. Molloy is being held in the Knox County Jail on a probation violation and felony charges.

The case is pending further investigation; a court date will be set on the new set of current charges.
