WACO celebrates 50th reunion

Box truck sidelined in morning accident

A two-vehicle crash this morning on Ohio 586, just south of Murray Road, injured the driver of the heavily damaged car in the background when this box truck went left of center and overturned. (Melissa Raines)

It’s all wet

A break in a 6-inch water line caused some minor disruptions on Mansfield Avenue on Thursday. Dick Lang of the Mount Vernon Water and Wastewater Dept. said the line is old and bad. Lang added it wouldn’t take long to dig it up and clamp it. Water service was restored by Thursday afternoon. (George Breithaupt)

A sad but sweet goodbye

The Rev. Doug Sweet is leaving Danville, where he grew up, to join his wife, Ann Edenfield Sweet, in Albuquerque, N.M., where they will work in ministry together. City Tournament nearing completion

Storms roll though cutting power to many

Dark churning clouds which brought lightning, heavy rains along with damaging winds blew through the county Thursday night. At the Heart of Ohio USA Days festival in Centerburg, crowds ran for cover as strong winds blew down tree limbs and power lines. These clouds, with flashes of lightning, drove folks indoors. The festival closed early for safety reasons, but reopens tonight at 5. (Melissa Raines)
