Danville’s Amish learn health, safety lessons

Members of the Amish community near Danville gathered for an Amish health and safety event held at the Danville Auction, Tuesday evening. The event was organized by the Knox County Safe Communities Coalition. Joe Sellers of Kokosing Construction spoke about the importance of using the appropriate safety gear while hunting, such as this safety harness, which could prevent a hunter from falling out of a tree stand. Tharp sisters dominate dog showmanship

Anevin Tharp of the Winner’s Attitude 4-H Club was named the Showman of Showmen at the 2009 Dog Grooming & Handling Judging held Tuesday evening at the Knox County Fairgrounds. Tharp is pictured with her dog, Adam, and this is her eighth year in 4-H. (Virgil Shipley)
