  • MV police officer involved in incident

MOUNT VERNON — The passenger side door of a Mount Vernon Police Department cruiser was damaged Friday morning.

According to the report provided by the MVPD, officer Frederick H. Gerber, 60, was “turning right out of the second level of the parking garage and onto Blackberry Alley. [The cruiser] scraped the wall in the garage while making the turn.”

Gerber was not cited nor was he injured during the incident.
