Serving children in the summer

A new paint job

This paint stripping crew has been working around Mount Vernon, renewing worn paint at selected intersections. The Griffin Pavement Striping company of Columbus has completed its big project, painting new stripes on South Gay Street. Handling the painting are Mike Morgan, left, and Clark Holliday. The paint is a thermoplastic that will dry in three minutes when sprinkled with water; it has a life of seven years. These cross walk lines at the intersection of Curtis Street and Mansfield Avenue are 12 inches wide. (Virgil Shipley)
