  An eight-year member of the K-9 Companions 4-H Club has been named the 2009 recipient of the Sharon Boeshart Memorial Award. Lydia Durbin received the award In a ceremony at the 4-H Dog Show on Monday evening at the Knox County Fair.

• Daniels, Presley tops in poultry

  Chicken, turkey and more chicken was showcased Monday during the Knox County Junior Fair Market Poultry Show. Ninety-seven 4-H participants showed three market broilers each; showcased next was the tom turkey class, with 25 participants.

• Bartley shows top hog

  Seventeen classes of ham on the hoof were featured Monday at Knox County Fair’s Market Hog Show, starting with “lightweight” gilts and barrows at 220 pounds and moving to the 280-pound “heavyweight” class.
