Repairing the bricks

A crew of summer help has been busy repairing rough places on Mount Vernon brick streets. Wednesday, crew members were on East Sugar Street at the intersection of North Main Street. Cleaning the bricks of cement and dirt are, from left, Haley Lambilotte, Aubrey Bonch, Amber Morrison and Evan Todd. The dirt will be leveled, and gravel, then sand, put down, with a cement base on top, where the bricks will be replaced. Sand will then be spread across the bricks to fill in the cracks. Walkers conquer cancer walk

Kauffman set to defend racing title
