Insurance needs change with new flood maps

The Fedral Emergency Management Agency is in the process of updating Knox County’s flood plain maps. Flood plains or zones are geographic areas that FEMA has defined according to varying levels of flood risk. These zones are depicted on a community’s Flood Insurance Rate Map or Flood Hazard Boundary Map. Each zone reflects the severity or type of flooding in the area.

New Albany man killed in accident

A 32-year-old New Albany man was killed south of Centerburg on Friday afternoon when he drove left of center on U.S. 36 into the path of a tractor-trailer truck, striking it head-on.
