School board resolves federal lawsuit

Despite a short hiatus over the weekend, Mount Vernon’s only private cab company is still in operation, according to Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Mavis and Safe Cab owner Virgil Bird.

Knox County residents required to pay scheduled child support will soon be able to drop off payments locally, a process that has been void from the county since 2000.

The Knox County Board of Health took several actions at its regular monthly meeting Wednesday. The first order of business was a hearing about the license for the swimming pool and spa at the Super 8 Motel on Coshocton Ave. Environmental Health Services Division Director Brian Benick reported the results of several inspections of the pool and spa.

After several fitful attempts last summer, the Danville Farmers Market is ready to make a go of it this year under new management. Connie Mercier, Danville, is the chief organizer and the market manager.

Test results from the Ohio Department of Health have confirmed that a Kenyon College student suspected of having the H1N1 virus has tested positive for the virus. The student was one of several students who exhibited flu-like symptoms late last week. All students were treated with anti-viral medication and have recovered.

Lexington Police have located the Fredericktown man reported missing Wednesday.
