An early Monday morning crash in Apple Valley injured four young men, with one going to Columbus for treatment. The driver, Justin Woodford, 17, Mount Vernon, was taken by squad to Grant Medical Center, where he is listed in fair condition today.

The DKMM Solid Waste District will be looking for a new district director by the end of this year. At its meeting on July 21, the Executive Committee went into executive session to discuss the continued employment of director Keith Bailey. After the session, the committee announced the termination of Bailey’s employment as district director, effective Dec. 15. He has been in that position for about 15 years.

Like the old adage goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Or, when one thinks about it “One man spills while the other cleans up.” No matter how one puts it, recycling old, unwanted items is a great way to help others, as well as the environment.
