HOWARD — An early Monday morning crash in Apple Valley injured four young men, with one going to Columbus for treatment. The driver, Justin Woodford, 17, Mount Vernon, was taken by squad to Grant Medical Center, where he is listed in fair condition today.
Two of his passengers, Eric Lawson, 17, and Jesse Nyhart, 16, both of Mount Vernon, were treated at Knox Community Hospital. Another passenger, David Crowe, 16, Howard, was admitted to Grant, where he was released Wednesday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said they were eastbound on Floral Valley West when the car left the road on a curve, traveled 144 feet, and crashed into the home of David and Deborah Adams. The car gouged a hole in the lawn, and ran into and damaged a porch.
The patrol said none of the young men were using seat belts; alcohol is suspected. Woodford has been charged with failure to control. The crash is still under investigation.
