Plate auction brings in $5,000

Parade marshals

Longtime Fredericktown Tomato Show supporters and active community members, Bill Brown and his retired school teacher wife, Kate Brown, were the 2009 parade marshals. The Middlebury Township farmers are exhibitors each year at the Tomato Show with the family farm maple syrup products. They rode in style at the head of the parade Saturday in this elegant carriage. Kenyon College freshman running back Jordan Brooks sprints around the corner for a 52-yard touchdown run as teammate Jeremy Oller (68) blocks during Saturday’s game against the University of Chicago. The touchdown was part of a second half Lords’ rally. Kenyon ultimately lost in overtime, 37-36. (Joe Huddleston)
