Glitch may cause elimination of ROTC

Due to a glitch in state law, more than 60 Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps Junior ROTC units could be eliminated in Ohio, including the ones at Highland High School and the Knox County Career Center.

On Wednesday, workers from Mel Troyer’s construction company installed a precast concrete deck in a single day on Bridge No. 2 on the Heart of Ohio Trail, using a crane that attached to the bridge itself.

The Partners-In-Tourism is a series of tours and meetings arranged by the Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau to help community leaders learn about the businesses and cultural attractions that draw visitors to Knox County. The partners were on the road Wednesday to visit Glen Hill Orchard for insight into one of Ohio’s most popular agricultural industries, apples.
