Ankneytown home destroyed second time by fire
Firefighters from the Fredericktown Community Fire District and Jefferson Township Bellville Fire Department battled a fire at this house in Ankneytown, Wednesday evening. No one was home when firefighters arrived on the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. (Virgil Shipley)
Crash sends local man to hospital
This big tree stopped a pickup truck that left the road on Ohio 229 west of Mount Vernon, Wednesday afternoon. The driver was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with injuries. (Virgil Shipley)

At right is Annette Titus, American Red Cross blood donor representative. Each year before the Danville Blue Devils-East Knox Bulldogs football game, students from each school try to top each other in blood donations.
