MOUNT VERNON — Knox County weathered high winds Tuesday with the lights on for most residents.

At the height of the storm, American Electric Power Ohio reported 966 customers were without electric, which included residents in the Bellville and Lexington areas. At 8 a.m. this morning, there were 65 individual outages in the Millwood and Danville area.

According to AEP Ohio spokeswoman Terri Flora, power is expected to be restored by noon.

“We had crews out last night but the biggest push will come this morning with crews working in the daylight,” Flora said.

Energy Co-operative spokesperson Brad Byrd said this morning that any outages during yesterday’s wind storm were restored by midnight except for a few scattered outages in the Jelloway area.
