MOUNT VERNON — A Danville woman escaped injury in a three-car traffic crash Monday morning. The juvenile who caused the crash is in Grant Medical Center in critical condition, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post at Granville.

The patrol said the crash occurred on U.S. 62, 1.1 miles east of Ohio 661, at 7:25 a.m. The young man’s car was eastbound and slid left of center on the slippery road, crashing head-on into a 2006 Dodge three-quarter ton crew cab truck.

Three occupants in the truck were taken to Licking County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The patrol had not yet identified them Monday afternoon. Following the truck was Betty Jo Severns, 40, Danville; her van hit the back end of the truck. The crash remains under investigation.
