Firefighter of the Year
Fredericktown Fire Chief Scott Mast presented firefighter Mike Daley with the award for the 2009 Fredericktown Firefighter of the Year. This honor is chosen by a vote of all members of the department. “I was very shocked and honored,” said Daley, who has been a Fredericktown firefighter for four years. He is a fire inspector, and serves as the department’s chaplain and cadet advisor. “He’s put forth a lot of extra initiative in fire investigations and with the kids as a cadet advisor,” Mast said of Daley. Mike and his wife, Betty, have six children. He is employed as a shop mechanic by Kokosing Construction. (Melissa Raines)
