MOUNT VERNON — The Fiesta Mexicana Express, 1061 Coshocton Ave., is under new management following its purchase by Hector Villarreal. According to Villarreal, the restaurant will be maintaining its current menu, but adding new items in the near future.
“We want to focus on the customer and giving the customer a good experience,” Villarreal said.
Since taking over Dec. 20, Villarreal has been hiring all-new staff for the restaurant. Thus far he has hired 10 and is still interviewing. His own background in the field comes from previously running a grocery store in Columbus, which included a restaurant.
Although Villarreal has no plans to change the restaurant’s name, he does have plans to expand it as a chain into Newark and other areas in the future. The current menu already includes margaritas, under the restaurant’s liquor license. He anticipates part of the future menu expansion to include obtaining a beer license, as well.
Through these changes, the restaurant will remain open for business.
