The annual Ohio Junior Miss Radio Auction went smoothly Saturday, with host announcers Marty Trese, left, and Dave Bevington announcing the more than 250 items up for bid. Cline honored at retirement
A veteran Mount Vernon engineering department employee, Paul Cline was honored with a retirement party Friday at City Hall. Practicing a rescue on ice
Fredericktown firefighters recently spent several frigid hours practicing ice rescue techniques at Knox Lake, where a few inches of ice cover the water. Wearing special cold-weather survival suits designed to keep the freezing water from dangerously lowering the firefighters’ body temperatures, the firefighters practiced the techniques necessary to quickly rescue a victim from beneath the ice, and get the victim safely to shore.
