MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon City School Board of Education voted Monday night to ask residents of the district to pass a continuing emergency operating levy in May.
“This is vital to the welfare of our kids,” said board member Steve Thompson. “We have been challenged to look out for the best interest of our kids. This is a renewal; it is needed. The community needs to know we are good stewards of our money.”
