  • United Way advances common good

MOUNT VERNON — The work of the United Way of Knox County touches the lives of countless residents in and around Knox County and has a lasting impact on the future of Knox County, Jen Odenweller, executive director of the United Way of Knox County, said during Tuesday’s annual meeting.

“While I know there was a significant variety [of accomplishments in 2009], they almost all boil down to the following priorities — early learning and intervention, financial stability and working to improve people’s lives,” said Odenweller.

To achieve the high levels of success, seen through the distribution of funds, Odenweller said it is important to keep momentum rolling on projects that serve as the foundation for future accomplishments.
