  • Blackledge honored by KCESC

  • February 18, 2010

MOUNT VERNON — At its meeting on Wednesday, the governing board of the Knox County Educational Service Center named social worker Margaret “Peggy” Blackledge the ESC Outstanding Employee of the Month.

Elementary consultant Linda Spurgeon said it was not possible to put a value on the impact Blackledge has had on Knox County children and families. For the last 12 years, since starting with the ESC in 1998, Spurgeon said, Blackledge has worked to build trust and rapport with children and families, and networks with other agencies to help “any child and any family in any of the ESC programs, from preschool to special education to the Alternative Center.”
