  • City looks toward spring

  • February 27, 2010

MOUNT VERNON — City officials are beginning to look toward spring activities, including the Memorial Day Parade and beautifying the city’s parks.

Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Mavis said the Patriotic Memorial Committee met this week and designated the work that needs to be done prior to the city’s Memorial Day Parade on May 31. The parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. that Monday, and will follow East High Street to Public Square. Immediately following the parade will be an event on the square.

Mavis said a mailing will go out in mid-April for those organizations and individuals that participated in last year’s parade.
