  • Ohio Girl Scout cookies are safe

  • February 27, 2010

MOUNT VERNON — Many customers await the great taste of Girl Scout Cookies each year, and the opportunity to help support troopers and quench the tastebuds is a delicious delight.

But recently, many patrons were concerned when news came out that some boxes of the Lemon Chalet Creme Cookies were asked to be returned because of an unusal taste and smell.

“This happened in Indiana about a week ago,” said Sara West, public relations director for the Columbus office of the Girls Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council. “They got two phone calls from consumers who noticed an off smell coming from their Lemon Chalet Creme cookies.”
