MOUNT VERNON — The audience listened closely as five speakers spoke about their personal experience dealing with problems of depression, post traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse and bipolar disorder, as well as the perplexities faced by a parent, guardian or caregiver of someone with mental or behavioral problems.

The “Day by Day: Addressing the challenges of recovery from mental and behavioral health problems,” forum was sponsored by the Knox County Democratic Women and is the fourth program in a series on issues confronting the community.

“I had decided I had enough,” said Rickey, a panelist who spoke about his disease of addiction.
