  • Colopy has court date on April 24

MOUNT VERNON — Erica Colopy, 27, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault and endangering children in connection with the Oct. 8 death of 4-year-old Donovan Poole, has been given a court date. Poole died of the injuries sustained in a fall down the stairs at his home on Oct. 6, 2009.

Colopy, who is still being held in the Knox County Jail, will be in court April 24 to answer the charges against her. Colopy has retained the services of attorney James Giles to defend her. Giles declined to talk to the News about the active court case.
